12月26日，南亞海嘯滿十週年。當年，威力巨大的海嘯衝擊14個國家，奪走20多萬人生命，不僅在天災史上前所未見的紀錄，對人類社會造成的創痛至今仍未散盡。耶誕節起，印尼政府在重災區印尼班達亞齊舉行一連四天紀念會，全球至少35位各國大使出席，回顧重建與災難教育的進程。

創傷淺聊

電影院裡面經常見到的標示 “In the unlikely event of a fire, please use the emergency exit closest to you.”(萬一有火災，請就最近的出口離開。)如果你寫成If /  In case there is a fire…也可以，可是 “In the unlikely event”更強調「萬一」之不可能性，言下之意，本戲院安全措施完善，著火機會極小，「萬一」有火災‧‧‧ 這麼一解釋，大家就了解in the unlikely event這句片語的好用之處，既提醒火災時如何逃生，也暗示本戲院是很安全的。同理，如果你想說我老公老實可靠，怎會有外遇，就可以說In the unlikely event that my husband has an affair…這比If my husband has an affair…更具人妻的尊嚴。

1. chef（主廚）chef這個字是法文，和英文的chief有關，也就是廚房內的最高首領，舉凡菜單設計（menu planning）、食材管理（supply management）、人力配置（staff deployment）幾乎都要由他決定，當然最後菜色的成敗，也由他負責。

【單詞解析】

所有選舉結果，無論輸或贏，都可用margin（邊界）這個字來表達，外加寛、窄，大、小等字眼即可。Margin有三個常用法：一、電腦排版時，一定要先設定margin （上、下、左、右各邊界的寛度），頁面才會好看。二、用在選舉結果中。三、用在商業中，profit margin（利潤）當然是越高越好。

「大勝」有一個常見的用法：landslide，本意是山崩，有點類似「崩盤」；不過中文的「崩盤」是完蛋了，英文的landslide正好相反，常用在勝方，如win by a landslide、a landslide win。若用在輸方，lose by a landslide就和「崩盤」意思相近了，慘輸也可以這麼說：embarrassing defeat或是humiliating defeat。
